Competitions Update

As the weather has been so bad this year we have decided to extend the closing date for the Military Rifle competition to 29th September. This will give more people an opportunity to have a go.

May is the freestanding smallbore sporting rifle at 25m
June is the prone centrefire rifle at 75m
July is the smallbore sporting rifle at 75m (rabbit)

There will be a new competition running through July, August and September using the Club .223 rifle - for the best group. You can have as many goes as you like!

We will also be running a Junior Challenge competition through July, August and September using the club rifles. It will be  for the under 25s only and will cover several different calibres and disciplines. Full details on the notice board. A tankard has been donated by John Green.

Details of the comps for later in the year to follow shortly

All comps are free to enter and you will be able to borrow a rifle if you need to - just let us know.

FAMILY DAY - July 14th

A date for your diary - 14th July - for our annual Family Day.

As usual, we will be having the benchrest competition, archery and other shooting activities. Instead of a BBQ, we will be having a HOG ROAST

There will be a vegetarian alternative - but this HAS TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. Please let Sheila or Janet know by 30th June so they can be ordered.

You are welcome to bring friends and family to this event, but we will need names in advance. Please let Janet know by 7th July.

Hopefully the weather will be better than last year (see here) - but even if it isn't we will have a good time!

Please note that the 75m range will be closed and there will only be .22 shooting on the 25m

We will be holding a raffle to raise funds for Help for Heroes - we would be very grateful if you could donate a raffle prize please

May Day Interclub Shoot

We had a great day, with some excellent shooting all in support for Help for Heroes. The rain held off until the early afternoon, which was an unexpected bonus! Some had to move under cover though ...

Congratulations to J Armitage from Reepham Shooting Centre who had the best group of the day with 0.517", closely followed by A Armitage (0.536") and A Taylor (.577") which is an excellent result for .22 at 75m

Reepham Shooting Centre won the team event with an average group of 0.543", closely followed by Lincoln & District with .920"

Thanks to Mike for organising the BBQ again and to Fred for doing the scoring.

We will be supporting Help for Heroes for the rest of the year.
